"His heart... it simply broke in two, and he had taken such good care of it all these years."

The Book was there when The Equuschick came home from work yesterday at 1:15 pm. It had arrived in the mail from a friend. 22 hours and 635 pages later, The Book is done.
Jennyanydots, you're going to hate it. The Equuschick only warns you because she loves you, and she tells you too that it may yet be all right again by the time the third book comes out in the states.

The Equuschick's high appreciation for many British authors notwithstanding, she is inclined to believe that of the modern authors, only the Germans still understand the art of the fairy tale. The Brothers Grimm should probably be thanked for it.

(For the obtuse readers who still were lost, above quote is courtesty of Cornelia Funke's Inkspell.)

  1. Perhaps I should wait 'till the third book is out in the US, and then read them back to back.

  2. Having just researched the matter, The Equuschick is distressed to find out that the third book is apparantly not even out in Germany yet. It is still unfinished. And it is to be called Inkdeath. A cheerful title, don't you think? Though, the author did intend to call Inkspell Inkblood instead, and her publishers were not very happy. Inkblood would have suited it better.
