I Thought I'd Seen Everything

How can you tell the difference between Dana Milbank and his cronies at the Washington Post and the Jon Stuart show? Jon Stuart has more talent.

This really is just an unbelievable low in juvenile behavior unbecoming to adults who consider themselves journalists. I'll never think of them as journalists again, not even bad ones. They just aren't worthy of the name. You simply must watch the video.

Update: Really, this is ridiculous. The Vice President injured somebody in a hunting accident. It was not a crime, a matter of national security, an issue of public policy, or a moral outrage. It was an accident.
The VP left it up to the victim and/or his wife to announce it. So the poor press did not find out about it for 18 hours. That's all. You'd think the VP had aided and abetted our country's enemies. But that would be the former VP, and the press is clamming up on this one. Instead we have headlines like "Cheney FAces Fallout" over on MSNBC, when the truth is the fallout is from a petulant, foolish sounding media.

You want to see how petulant? Look at this transcript of a press conference reported by MacsMind:

Why was the White House relying on a Texas rancher to get the word of Cheney's hunting accident out over the weekend, asked Gregory, accusing McClellan of "ducking and weaving.''

"David, hold on… the cameras aren't on right now,'' McClellan replied. "You can do this later.''

"Don't accuse me of trying to pose to the cameras,'' the newsman said, his voice rising somewhat. "Don’t be a jerk to me personally when I’m asking you a serious question.''

"You don't have to yell,'' McClellan said.

"I will yell,'' said Gregory, pointing a finger at McClellan at his dais. "If you want to use that podium to try to take shots at me personally, which I don’t appreciate, then I will raise my voice, because that’s wrong."

"Calm down, Dave, calm down,'' said McClellan, remaining calm throughout the exchange.

"I'll calm down when I feel like calming down,'' Gregory said. "You answer the question.'

What a ridiculous little man Gregory sounds like. What an embarrassing spectacle. I do hope his friends and relations are able to get him the help he clearly needs.

Update: Michelle Malkin shares a little flashback- several years ago we learned that, contrary to sworn testimony, Hillary Clinton was behind a thirty hour delay in notifying the press of Vince Foster's suicide note, and even insisted that staffers wait to notifity the President. Do you remember the same press intensity over this as we're seeing over a minor hunting accident with no fatalities?
