In 2009 I want to...
Write something worth reading
Read something worth sharing
Say something worth repeating
Give something worth getting
Choose something worth keeping
Sacrifice something worth giving up
Go somewhere worth seeing
Eat something worth tasting
Hug someone worth holding
Buy something worth treasuring
Cry tears worth shedding
Do something worth watching
Risk something worth protecting
Listen to something worth hearing
Teach something worth learning
Be someone worth knowing.
I did not write these. 15 year old Kelsey Harris wrote them. We know her, slightly, from a homeschool family camp we go to. She wrote those resolutions this month.
Kelsey has an inoperable brain tumor. It's quite probable that this last New Year of two weeks ago is her last New Year on this earth. I believe she is already somebody worth knowing, has written something worth reading, and has given something worth keeping. In truth, she's probably done more things on this list already, but I can't see through the tears to pick those things out. She is a monument to strength in adversity.
You can read more about her here.
