Palin Resigns from Office

Not really clear why- lots of speculation, right now one prevelant idea is that it's so she can position herself to run for President. I like her and I think what the press and the left has done to her and her family is disgraceful and a black mark of shame against them. However, it was never a given that I would vote for her- I do not vote for people just because like them, nor because the press has treated them in a scurilous and reprehensible fashion.

I didn't think she had the qualifications or experience to be President. I thought the same thing about Obama, and I think the errors he has made in office have demonstrated that to be true. I am not interested in repeating the experience of having an inexperienced candidate learn the job as he or she goes along. I might have reconsidered Palin if it looked like she'd gained enough experience and done plenty of homework between now and 2012, and IF it looked like she was really a small government fiscal conservative.

But if she really resigned the governorship to run for President, I don't see myself voting for her. There are a lot of people who were open to the possibility of a Palin for President who will slam that door closed, hard, on a Palin who quit the governorship halfway through in order to run for President. I believe she has an obligation to the people who elected her to office.
