Productivity, thy name is not The DHM:

I finally ordered this clothesline with my Amazon credits (and wouldn't you know it- Amazon just started carrying this one which is more expensive but looks like much better quality). I took about a year to order it, and my husband took about a week to get it up for me- attaching one end to the deck upstairs and t'other end to a tree across the yard- this way it gets more sunlight than it would in our shady yard, and not so many bugs and debris falling on the clothes.

And today I went to hang clothes up on it and couldn't find the clothespins. The girls were all in town 45 minutes away and I called them and asked them to bring home clothespins, but they weren't getting home until 6 p.m. We'll be gone all day Sunday, so I'll have to try it out on Monday.

On the other hand, I did eat the first three ripe cherry tomatoes from the plants on my deck, I did get flowers replanted that I picked up for 75 percent off at the grocery store yesterday, the Boy got his hammock hung up, and I pulled a number of weeds.



Maybe later I'll buy a retractable clothesline for ground level. I can probably get along with a single line, but the multiple line sure looks handy. So does the radial armed version, which is what my mother had when we lived in Canada. She would hang sheets around the outside line to make a 'playhouse' for my friend Collette and I. Great fun.

I'll probably get the retractable version sometime next summer.=)
