The public is not only shifting from left to right. Every single idea associated with the educated class has grown more unpopular over the past year.
The educated class believes in global warming, so public skepticism about global warming is on the rise. The educated class supports abortion rights, so public opinion is shifting against them. The educated class supports gun control, so opposition to gun control is mounting.
Uh. Yah, mon. I was totally pro-abortion until I found out the 'educated class' was fer it, and then I had to take a stand agin in.
David Brooks needs to get hisself a robe or sumpin', because the 'educated class' he's so proudly a member of is nekkid.

Funny to me, especially being from the South where, as a child I learned that naked means you don't have any clothes on, but nekkid means you don't have any clothes on and you're up to something (you know, like streaking).

ReplyDeleteThanks for the good laugh this morning. Cuz ah totally changed my mind this year, too. Them edjumicated folk know nuthin'. Does this just continue the myth that people who hold the pro-life, gun-toting, point of view are NOT educated? Then how come all my crazy friends are college grads, many with masters in engineering? Eesh.
ReplyDeleteclearly, what David Brooks means by education is not what is understood by the confused and ignorant masses who are pro-life and believe the second amendment says what it says. Education is defined as ''agreeing with David Brooks." Note that he also is able to control what we mere mortals believe- because he is apparently our moral compass and we determine what we believe only in relation to what David and his 'educated friends' believe.
