The food in the White House garden has been deemed toxic. They knew this last year, so the whole scene of picking food from the White House garden was as fraudulent as President Obama’s promise to put the health-care debate on C-SPAN.
The problem stems from a previous administration’s having used sewage sludge for fertilizer. Which means it will never be certified organic. Before you commentators start typing up anti-Bush screeds, the previous administration was the Clintons.
More here. What I don't get is why Michelle didn't have the soil tested first. Pin It

She probably didn't think it was necessary. After all, most of the White House grounds have never been built on.
ReplyDeleteLet's keep in mind folks, Michelle, Obama, Bush, Clinton also have a group of advisors they get all their information from. It would be impossible for Presidents to research everything on their own. They too trust others to give them the straight facts. This is why we have to write to our senators, governers, Mayors, state reps, so that they know what's right from wrong and can ask questions. I still think it was great that Obama showed the world that they try to eat organic whether it was from their garden or not. And let's keep in mind, this whole Organic trend is fairly new and i'm really excited about it. Everyone's finally getting on board with this. We as citizens, ominivores, vegans are still eating GMOs. I'm still seeing people who call themselves health experts telling people to eat soy without mentioning to eat organic soy not GMOs. Michael Pollan and Jeffrey Smith are one of the few who authors who really know what's going in our food. By now, everyone should know that over 95% of our soy is genetically modified. Need more info, go to www.seedsofdeception.com to find out the health hazards. We as people need to stop complaining and do something about what we're not happy with. Are you signing petitions and not just reading articles. Are you starting groups to show how strong your voice is, are you posting on Facebook your thoughts on our food system and agriculture department?
