School on the Deck
The Boy calls this their 'cave.' He originally had it set up with a smaller blanket and books weighting the blanket down on the deck railing, but the wind kept catching it. I suggested a bigger blanket and clothesepins. Thrift shop blanket, rummage sale checkered futon, and yard sale beige futon, btw.
FYG's feet on the left, Boy's on the right.
I suggested the Cherub enjoy some sun, too- and by suggest I mean I sat her down on the bench and turned her sideways to put her feet up. Doncha love her stockings? You want a closer look, right?
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you The Cherub:
She is 23 years old. We're cutting her hair soon and donating to Locks of Love or something like it. Our property goes up to the green line. Friendly farmers own the cornfield on the other side of our fence- we used to, but were forced to sell a few years ago. In the distance on the left, that patch of woods is called The Hundred Acre Woods. It has never been cut and has been in my mother's family since the 1800s. The homestead farm is just a bit to the left of those trees. The Equuschick, Shasta and the Dread Pirate Grasshopper live in a little house about a mile to the right of the right edge of the picture. Granny Tea and Grandpa live in a house on the other side of the woods you can't see- the woods behind me as I took the picture.
In a month or so there should be green things growing in the planters and buckets on the deck.
