Versatile

We sometimes grab one of the little ones up, saying, "I'm going to play your guitar!" and then we strum their tummies, riffing out, oh, Peter Framptom's Do You Feel Like We Do or something like that, to the accompaniment of wild giggles. The kids like it, too.=)  I hasten to add that I just play the opening
Kind of like an air guitar, only with a toddler in your arms instead of the air.  Said toddler may or may not be right side up.

A couple days ago the Dread Pirate Grasshopper, age 2, indignantly rejected my attempt to play Tummy Guitar with him, insisting, "I not have a guitar.  I a violin!"

So we played Mozart concertos instead.

  1. We do that! And sometimes it's a baby piano (tickle the tummy) or a baby harmonica (blow on the tummy). The harmonica is my favorite. :0)

  2. Now that many of your little ones are in their late teens or grown, with kids of their own, this practice must be getting a little awkward.

  3. In my family, the tradition is to play piano--usually Beethoven's Fifth.
