Striderling, by the way, has started scooted his away across the floor to get things. Love this!
* Listening to Thistle & Shamrock on the radio. It goes so perfectly with the grey, rainy day we're having.
* a ham in the oven (purchased marked down). It will be lunch this afternoon, with potatoes and broccoli on the side. Strider loves ham but we only have it rarely, so the smell in the apartment makes him happy. The marked down price makes me happy. ;)
* going to the library today! I haven't been in ages and realized I was missing the adventurous joys of browsing stacks and coming out with new things to read and listen to. Strider is at the home of one of our midwives right now, working on a bartering project (we have incredible midwives) and when he's done we'll make a quick trip. He has to work today (the first Saturday of many for a long time :() and so I won't really have an opportunity to overindulge with books.

I started a batch of apple butter in the Crock-Pot this morning, so it's now making the house smell amazing.
ReplyDeleteAt the moment, I'm listening to Celtic music on Pandora - my Celtic station is a rather eclectic mix of anything from traditional folk music to bagpipes to folk music mixed with Irish punk (always interesting, that Irish folk punk...). It keeps me happy while putting in 30-some interlibrary loan requests for an upcoming historiographical essay.
First Saturday in a long time I didn't have to work, so I caught up on chores, which sounds bad but the chores were make a trip to Trader Joes' and get their incredible apricot mango greek yogurt.( Yogurt, indulgence, trip made to stock up on easy vegetarian meals that I can get cheapest there and with having to work 40 hours a week and homeschool and no other driver in the house...easy meals for my vegetarian are important) the other chore was to get some yarn on sale( with a coupon also) from Joann Fabrics so I can get started on Christmas gifts
