Difference of opinion
The first years and I went sledding again today, and FYB insisted his sled was a girl sled because it was purple (said in tones of deep disgust). He wanted FYG's sled.
FYG: Mine's a girl sled, too: it's purple with sparkles. FYB: No, it's not! It's blue with white spots.
Personally, I think it was a dark shade of purple and sparkly, but I gave FYB the one I was using because it was also a darker shade of purple blue, and everyone was happy.
No fair, David -- I'm probably 200 miles further north than you & it looks like we're not getting anything frozen. :( Although I want real snow, not sleet or freezing rain...
All government, indeed every human benefit and enjoyment, every virtue, and every prudent act, is founded on compromise and barter. Edmund Burke
ReplyDeleteCompromise, if not the spice of life, is its solidity. It is what makes nations great and marriages happy. Phyllis McGinley
And little boys happy, too?
ReplyDeleteYoung Mr. FYB has no idea how lucky he is to be able to sled at all.
ReplyDelete(I say, as I do a little jig with delight as I listen to the freezing rain -- we call it snow in Texas -- fall outside!)

ReplyDeleteYou might be asking for too much. Around here we never get our hopes that high.
My sled always had splinters and rust. Would that make it a girl's sled or a boy's sled?
ReplyDeleteYes.
