Sigh. Apologies. The template at my end is a complete mess. All sorts of things have just fallen off the edges. I presume it's the same for you. I'll try to fix it later. Perhaps a cup of hot tea later. Perhaps a cup of tea, a mindless movie, and a full night's sleep later. But later.
Thanks for your patience, indulgence and for restraining any inclination for snickering and finger pointing.

Update: I found a July version of the template, and I will put that up, if blogger cooperates, as a temporary fix. It doesn't have all the links I want, but it has quite a few.

Postscript: Does anybody else notice that I've destroyed my template right in the middle of the homeschooling blog awards? Is there an award for idiot of the year? Can we make that a special category? This is so high school. It's like getting a pimple right before school pictures. On your nose. And a sunburn. And that really horrible haircut. The one that made you look just like your uncle after a rought night out.
Gotta tell you, while I like your template, *it* is not the best part of your blog. That's just the window-dressing, the really great stuff is what's inside!
ReplyDeleteDo you know that Peter, Paul, and Mary song? "inside, inside..."
I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with your template.
ReplyDeleteThis may make you feel better; I've just backed up my template. Hopefully this will help prompt others to make sure they don't have the same problems you are having.
I hope you are able to get your template set up to your satisfaction quickly.
I second Judy.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you might be able to recover an old version from archive.org. Assuming the template is something you can extract from a copy of a page off of the weblog.
I have backed up the template before, but I didn't realize I hadn't done it since July, and I recently added several new links that I'll have to add again.
ReplyDeleteAs I told somebody else, I'm just pigheaded enough to keep banging my head against the wall, and I'm just smart enough to figure out the longest and hardest way to do this thing, but too dumb to figure out the easy, quick way. I'd be better off if I were a little dumber or a lot smarter.=)
And I'm already there on recovering an old page form archive.org. I don't know if somebody else could extract the html for the template from that, but I can't. I can extract the links a link at a time, though.
Sheer pigheadedness often wins through. I'm not sure the cost in bruises from head banging is worth it, but I'm to stubborn to give it up and find out if I like it better the other way.=)
