Random and Scattered Booknotes

"Leave it to Psmith," by P.G. Wodehouse is exceedingly funny, as are all of P.G.W.'s books.

The HOratio Hornblower books, by C. S. Forester.
I read the first one. I like the movies better, although in one there are a few rather editable scenes (and not just because of gore). It also has a lot of language...

I likes "Catch Me and Kiss Me and Say It Again." Good book.

Here's an excerpt from a story written a couple years ago:

Raenela lifted her hands high, her skirt whirling round her ankles. The sound of
the flute echoed in her ears as she danced faster and faster. Finally the music
broke into one high, wailing note, and she stopped, breathless, but smiling, her
head held high, dark blue eyes blazing. There was a scattered clapping, and she
sat down next to a tall dark skinned man,who smiled gravely at her.

"Raenela, my child, be careful of that spirit. It will get you in trouble."His eyes were full of wisdom beyond his years, but Raenela only tossed her head impatiently."I doubt that, Ricnad. What could evil could possibly come of dancing better than all the girls in our band?"

He looked long and hard at her, but said nothing. Soon she
grewuncomfortable under the gaze, and stood up suddenly. "I must go.
Luin-myhorse- needs caring for." She left in a whirl of skirts and jingle
ofbracelets. He watched her for a few minutes, sighed and shook his head sadly.
