Those of you who don't live on a farm...

...and think that country living must be heavenly should be aware that it does have one hardship that I absolutely do not like.

We have to deal with dead animals. Last night for instance, we saw a chicken caught in the grasp of an opossum; we, unfortunately, could do nothing. We have lost several favorite cats to coyotes and wild neighbor's dogs.

I guess I should also say that we do get to deal with lots of live animals, too. For instance, we've had contact with cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, mice, birds, deer, opossums and all manner of wildlife (whether we wanted it or not).
