Update 3 from the HG
The Boy is out of surgery now. He had a small tear in his colon that they fixed, and does have internal bruising in several places. The doctor said it looks like a 3-4 days before he can be released.
The FYG appears to be doing much better. She's been sleeping for several hours, which is good. They're still monitoring, but the concern isn't as strong as it was a few hours ago.
ETA: And the HM has just arrived at the hospital, which is another area of rejoicing.
Update 2 from the HG
The DHM just called me from the hospital: they're taking the Boy in for surgery right now (1:30 am EST). They're doing this because he's still complaining of internal pain and that, along with the fact that he does have at least some internal bruising, is concerning them. At this point they're only planning on a small incision and then will go from there. Prayers are definitely appreciated. Christians in the area have taken the other three girls into their home to spend the night. The FYG is still under observation as there are a few symptoms that concern the doctors. And the HM is still driving down there, so the DHM is at the hospital with one child in surgery on one floor and another in observation on another. This is rather wearing, as I'm sure you can all imagine.
Thank you so much for all your comments and prayers.
----
At this point all are still safe, but all those who were camping had a car accident. All that is known at this the DHM, Pipsqueak, JennyAnyDots, and the Cherub, and the FYG are without significant injuries, the FYB had internal bleeding from his seatbelt and was flown to a separate hospital, and our hugest concern at this moment is that he is By Himself.
Thank-you.
EDIT: The HM is speaking on the phone to the FYB, so is the DHM, and we are told that the FYB has a bruise and some fluid, they will monitor him for 23 hours and then he will be released, praise God.
Update from the HG
Your prayers are appreciated -- and knowing that we have them is a major encouragement!
Here are the facts as we know them now:
Our van is totalled, but everyone is alive -- praise God! The First Year Girl was later transferred to the same hospital as the Boy. They want to do the same monitoring on her for internal bleeding. They believe everything is probably OK, but want to make sure. Both of them are being monitored for 24 hours before release. She also has a sprained ankle.
Everyone else was released from the hospital they were at, and a church in the area is driving them to be with the two youngest children. This is very exciting for us, because we know how desperately they all want to be together.
The HM is on his way down in Granny Tea's van so that when everyone is released they can all drive home together.
Someone from the camp actually lives near the hospital where the Boy was, and she visited him. This love, along with the prayers already being lifted up, makes life sweeter. Thank you.
Updates will be posted as we receive them.
We're all praying for ALL of you, but especially for FYB. Please keeping posting with updates. Take Care and God Bless.

Praying for you all.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read this this morning, I realized FYB had just been taken in for surgery and that most folks were still sleeping, so I prayed as hard as I could, especially for the safety of the HM on the road and some comfort for the all-alone DHM. We'll continue to pray that everyone is home safely and well before you know it.
ReplyDeleteJust saw this!! Oh, praying...
ReplyDeleteJust saw this - we'll pray too!
ReplyDeleteThough I have to agree with another commenter: now that the worrisome parts seem past, what a story the FYB will have to tell!
Praise the Lord the injuries were not more serious, though bad enough as it was. That everyone was there. that you had access to another van. I'm so sorry your time apart turned into such an ordeal.
ReplyDeletePrayers for God's enveloping love. He has already been with you, but for it to be the two smallest hurt such... I am so glad Dad and Mom are there now.
Oh DHM, what a way to end that much-anticipated holiday! I'm so glad you are all safe and/or recovering.
ReplyDeleteThank God for seatbelts (though FYB may not agree at the moment). Very glad Mom and Dad are with the wee ones now.
