EDIT: This is Update, Five Now. The FYG is totally discharged, the FYB continues to improve and is able to have fluids now. He is still in alot of pain and it will be a bit before he comes hom
It is Sunday afternoon, and The Cherub, Pipsqueak, and JennyAnyDots are home.
This blessing was made possible by the the kindess of people all across the country. The brother-in-law of a preacher in our area lives in the area of the accident and he drove all three of them half-way, where a young man and his girlfriend met them and drove them all the many hours left till home.
All three are healthy and whole, but desperately sore and exauhsted. The Cherub, in particular, is prone to breaking into tears at regular intervals because she is sore and does not know why or what to do about it, and because she is disoriented and confused. She is thrilled to be home, and gave The Equuschick and the HG bear hugs last night and wanted to sit on our laps and she sat on The Equuschick's for about twenty minutes with her arms around The EC's neck. And she then signalled to her bedroom and was taken to her very own bed. This development pleased her so much that she laughed and pointed to her bed saying, "go bed!" in her very own way.
The FYG is to be released from the hospital today, and was pleased to inform her sisters over the phone that she is finally allowed to eat.
The FYB had an MRI last night and we have yet to hear the results, in the meantime he had a solid three or four hours of sleep last night which is the most he's had yet. He woke up at 3 am and said "my stitches hurt", which was actually a good thing because once they knew the location of most his pain they were able to take care of things in all the right places. If the results from the MRI are good, they will only hold him a day or two more and then the last remaining four of the Common Room family will be on their way home as well.
The HM's boss has called with offers of help and groceries, and will be stopping by this afternoon. The Equuschick's boss and co-worker are covering for her at the animal shelter this afternoon (usually she feeds and cleans on Sundays), and our preacher's wife invited all of us over for lunch and we have had more offers for help than one can imagine.
In short, we continue to be moved to tears many times a day by the servant hearted, loving, and kind people around us and we thank God for His loving care and provision.
*Postcript- As priorities go in times like these, The Equuschick's dogs are rather low, but be that as it may she feels it worth mentioning that they are distraught and confused. They know that something is wrong but they don't know what, and they know that their schedule is out of whack and they aren't getting as much attention as they were just two days ago, and they don't know quite what to do about it. The poor Zeus child has regressed to behaviors he hasn't displayed in months, and in about 24 hours he ate two loaves of bread and two pieces of chicken off dinner plates, one package of cookies and one package of feta cheese, and he got into the garbage once. Poor baby, The Equuschick wants to hold him in her lap and tell him that everything is okay and it isn't his fault.
/Ending Equuschick's Silly Priorities.

ReplyDeleteIt's called 'payback' ;-)
Great to hear that everything is progressing as well as could be hoped.
Thank goodness things appear to be going well for your family.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read that every single family member is home safe and sound. God bless all of you.
I just read this and will be praying that you will be reunited at home soon. And that FYB will recover quickly. I will say that I was shocked to hear that the family was in another accident!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer (from CT)
I have to say I feel really bad for Zeus. I also eat when I'm upset. Poor thing. TWO loaves of bread??? I hope he is not suffering ill effects.
ReplyDeleteYou know how glad I am that so many are taking such good care of you all--how I wish I was there!
May God continue to hold you all in the palm of His hand!

Since I too can not bring over a large casserole and hold your hands, I am still praying for you all and that GOd will heal the FYB's and all of your bodies.
ReplyDeleteWe are continuing to pray for your family-- so glad to hear that some have made it home safely and that developments at the hospital look good.
ReplyDeleteI had to grin when I read of the Cherub's joy at being in her own bed. That is something I enjoy too!
I'm so sorry to hear of your family's accident! I just read about it and wanted to let you know that prayers are being lifted here for everyone concerned. May the Lord be merciful and bring complete healing and restoration. I hope you're all soon reunited at home, safe and healthy. Wish I lived closer so I could bake a couple of loaves to replace the ones poor Zeus gobbled in his .anxiety. A blessed Lord's Day to you all!
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you for the updates...we are still praying for you (and will continue to do so for a long while) here in our little corner of California. I so look forward to your posting that "all are home...safe and sound". May our gracious and merciful God keep holding you all tightly in the shelter of His wings...
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear all that has happened to your family lately, but God seems to be bringing you lots of healing and comfort.
ReplyDelete(You probably don't know my online name, but my family of three came to visit you in summer 2005. I believe it was 2005. We also go to Purring Piggy's church. I am good friends with Jennyanydots.)
Ladybug, I'd seen your blog before and I wondered if that was you! :-D
ReplyDeletePlease continue the updates. We are praying for you all.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... I *just* saw all of this. I'm so glad it wasn't worse! I'll be praying that the MRI comes out fine and that everyone recovers well.
ReplyDeleteI have been out of the loop the last couple of days and missed all this.
ReplyDeletePraying, praying, praying for you all!
And thanks for the updates. Looking forward to the next.
Glad to hear things are continuing to improve. So, when do we get to read an account of the accident itself?
ReplyDeleteI'm am so saddened to hear of the accident. I was away from my computer and just found out this morning. I am praying for your family and wish I lived closer so I could join the line to help out!
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I also just found out that my friends pastor's children were in an accident last week and the eight year old boy was thrown through the windshield and is now paralyzed on his left side, so I guess that I have an opportunity right here.
We thought the boy could have fluids, but this was a miscommunication. He's still not allowed anything by mouth at all, and he's not allowed out of bed. he'snot even supposed to sit up.
ReplyDeletetimotheus, Im sorry, but I can't imagine ever writing about the details of the accident. Ever. This is almost more thn I can bear.
If either Equuschick or the HG could e-mail me, I would really appreciate it. We have some mutual friends who just headed out on the road for their new home across the country. They are wondering if they might be able to stop by the hospital and pray with your parents and the FYB. You can e-mail me at fireflyplace(at)hotmail(dot)com. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, I just noticed that the Headmistress left a comment just above mine. If she could e-mail me, that would be fine, too. God bless you and your family!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of your family's accident, and glad to hear that the community is bearing you up.
ReplyDeleteI've been out of the blog loop while hosting out-of-town visitors or I would have joined the prayer circle sooner. Hugs from Oregon.
ReplyDeletePrayers for the whole family!
