Happy Birthday to the Army

Why do people join the army? Some join for the benefits, the education, the chance to see the world, the chance to go anywhere but here, wherever here is. We've known a goodly number of army families in our travels because we've often been stationed in locations where Air Force and Army bases both had missions. They've all been fine, upstanding individuals that I have been proud, proud to call my friends. They joined for a variety of reasons. Why did they stay in? Here's a common reason.
