Home Stuff (and why I haven't been home much)

I have spent much of the last few days helping our Ukrainian friend pick up job applications, fill them out and, to a lesser extent, learning a little bit of Russian. There are three pages of words in my notebook that I need to work on today. Pronunciation is muy dificil.

This friend speaks English, but she still struggles in some areas. Yesterday I sat in with her during a job interview (where she got the job, thank God!) and thus got the hilarious pleasure of hearing this exchange:
Interviewer: I don't allow any bad language on the job.
Ukrainian Friend: I have to know how to speak good language first.
