What Just Happened to My Blog?

I know it does not look any different to you, but all the internal workings of my blog just changed. I don't know my way around anymore. It's unsettling. It's very discombobulating. It's like walking into your kitchen and discovering that somebody has actually rearranged all the contents of your cupboards and changed the color scheme as well. Which actually did happen to me once. Except not the color scheme. Well, the culprit did destroy my very unique and wonderful curtain which could never quite be duplicated again. Without apology. He said it was my fault for hanging up a curtain that looked like a designer model from the front but was actually just a bolt of fabric held together by masking tape and staples. True story. And it wasn't my husband. It was just a guy staying at our house while I was off-island for a month visiting my parents with the kids. You know why he rearranged my kitchen? Because, he said, his way was more efficient and practical. I am five foot five. He was 6 foot and a lot. Really, something like 6'5, 6, or 7" With super long arms. So his 'more efficient' moved all my most often used items up over my head where I needed a stool to reach them, and left the shelves at eye level, my eye level, with only the items I considered priority C. I kind of sort of prioritize my kitchen items. Priority A are items used every day and then have to be where I can reach them. Without a stool. Or a ladder. Priority B are items I use at least monthly and they need to be where I reach them with just a bit of a stoop, or standing on tiptoe. Priority C would be specialty items- birthday candles, Onigiri rice molds, sushi rolling mats, the waffle iron, things that do get used on a fairly regular basis, but not necessarily *that* regular. Priority D? that's the corner cupboard that goes way, way back, the one that I have to sit on the floor to get into, and crawl halfway under the counter to find what I want. That's the stuff that I really should either throw out, donate to a thrift shop, or move to another category. Somebody just moved my blog around, and they made everything a priority D.

  2. No kidding! I logged into my blogger blog looking for some code I added and had no idea where everything was located. Glad I just switched to WP.

  3. I hate learning new formats. Ugh. I guess I'll adapt, but I don't welcome it. I feel for ya!

  4. Lydia, Bloglines just changed the internal formation of their blogging tools. Almost nothing about writing and posting or approving posts is the same as it was five minutes ago.

  5. Did they warn you about this change? Change should be done slowly and carefully for people who are "Our Age." ( I'm assuming we are age-mates or nearly son.)

  6. Blogger dashboard changed fairly radically for me about six months ago. I saw comments but found it still clear and easy. There's certainly no change today for me.

Perhaps those of us downunder were guinea pigs for new look. LOL.

  7. If you go to your dashboard and click that gear on the top right it brings up your settings. There's one that says Old Interface, or something along those lines. It's only a temporary reprieve, though... :-(
