Learning Curve

The DPG after a busy morning, which included a long hot walk and play in the mud, was more than a little crabby.  His mother told him he needed to take a nap.  He said he wasn't tired- naturally using his crabby, whiny voice.

"You're more tired than you think you are," said his mama.

"No, I am not," he insisted.

"You could take a nap with me," offered Aunty Pip. "I'm tired."

He stopped and looked surprised.

"You're not tired," he told her, "You're happy!"

His mother explained that many people are able to have the self control to be pleasant even when they are tired, an idea that clearly startled him.

He is two, so this is understandable.

The rest of us, not so much.
