Time to Vote for the Homeschool Blog Awards

You vote over here at Still Thinking.

Spunky is the place to go for the complete set of rules.

Voting is from the 12th to the 26th of this month. You can only vote once. From what I can tell, it doesn't look like you can vote for the best blog in one category today and then go back and vote for the best blog in another category another day (which is how I manage Wizbang's Weblog Awards).

Looking over the nominations and the voting process, my suggestion is that you write yourself an email or save a memo in your word processing program and take this slowly. Look over one category at a time (unless you already know that some particular blog is the one you're going to vote for in a given category). Choose the blog you think best represents what you want in that category, and make a note of blog and category in your personal email. Save that and come back to it throughout the week as you look at other categories.

There are oodles of good homeschooling blogs listed there (and some great homeschooling blogs that got overlooked because certain middle aged readers with dehydrated brain cells and depleted memory banks like moi forgot to nominate them). You almost can't go wrong, whichever blog you pick.

Remember too, for those of you who hate not to choose everybody, that elements of this vote really are subjective. Take, for instance, one of the categories that we've been nominated for- Current Events. We do cover a lot of current events, but they are of a specific sort, and with a particular goal in mind. Some of those voting for this category may be looking for something different- current events more centered on homeschooling, for instance. We don't cover that topic nearly as much as some of the other blogs in the category. So it's really okay for those of my tenderhearted, sensitive readers who don't want to hurt anybody's feelings- not only will none of us know how you voted unless you tell us, but you're aren't just voting for the 'best current events' blog, you're voting for the blog that tells you about the current events you want a homeschooling blog to tell you about- other current events blogs can be just as good, but simply cover other topics that interest you less in a hsing blog.

So while we really would like to win something, we also want you to know you have our permission to vote for some other blog- not that you need our permission. But nobody should feel guilty or pressured about the way they vote.

If you feel the pressure, we're going about it all wrong and need to adjust the freqencies on the subliminal messages we're sending.
