The Dread Pirate Grasshopper and the Ladybug go to the Zoo

Here you see the Dread Pirate Grasshopper admiring fishies at the zoo. Fishes are very much his thing, perhaps due to his mother's brain-washing with Goldfish and Betta fish and The Shedd Aquarium. Perhaps not.

Shasta has returned to school for the fall, so a rare Saturday off for him turned into a Family Trip to the Zoo. The weather report had promised a cooler day as well, but the report lied and the weather was in fact above 97 degrees. This meant that the Ladybug especially resented all the outdoor exhibits.

The Equuschick usually takes a small sling with her for small occasions, but for all-day outings she usually takes her ERGO Sport Carrier - Black (ok actually, her carrier is tan if we really want to be specific) because it is mahvelous. Except that, of course, when you are outdoors in above 90 weather it gets a wee bit stuffy.

There we are. The Ladybug at heart is a very easy-going soul however, so after voicing her complaints in a mild way she fell asleep, leaving her brother to feed the giraffes and pet the dog sharks.

He is especially fascinated by giraffes at the moment because on a prior trip to a different zoo, he was blessed (or so he thinks) by a demonstration of a giraffe answering an...erm.....call of nature.

He was so impressed that a full ten days to two weeks later while The Equuschick was dressing him in his little over-alls with a giraffe on the front, the DPG became very animated, pointed to the giraffe, and said distinctly "Giraffe! Pooped. Diaper change."
